My interests revolve largely around country life and rural leanings. Such are reflected in my photography displayed on www.alongcountryroads.com and my other blogs: mysideofmontana.blogspot.com and mycornerofpa.blogspot.com When I created this blog, I decide to confine my categories to just novel writing and Summers Run: An American Boyhood, Return to Summers Run, and this fictional community of Summers Run. Listing all my interests just became too unwieldy. A blog entitled afeelgoodnovel.blogspot.com is devoted to my fictional works.
A website, Along Country Roads at www.alongcountryroads.com ,attempts to anchor the blogs.
Country themes and subjects become expansive if one is inclusive and strives toward a wide horizon. Not always a good approach according to “they”, “they” being the experts in this blogging business. I’m a rookie.
As mentioned elsewhere, I’m a Vietnam veteran and a graduate of Allegheny College, Meadville, PA. My wife and I now live in western Montana. We have four sons and two grandchildren.
This blog also features child film stars from the 1940s and Fifties largely, those “oldies but goodies” one sees on the TCM Channel with a rural or Western slant. Claude Jarman, Jr. is our honoree. His career began with the celebrated motion picture The Yearling and continued for a decade-plus. His last film appearance was in the 1978 release of Centennial.
