Folks ask if this farm is Shadeland from Summers Run: An American Boyhood. Well, actually it might be closer to Summers Run Farm, home of Nathean and Albert Summers, two of the book’s principal characters. It is more closely related in my mind’s eye as the farmstead most like a traditional Pennsylvania farm. In fact, this could be the quintessential PA farm in that it presents a typical turn-of-the-century farmhouse (or earlier), red barn and outbuildings, mature trees about the place.
